Job summary

Priory Community School, part of Pathway Trust, is seeking a Careers Advisor to work alongside the Assistant Headteacher, guiding students across all year groups on option choices and post-16 decisions, with responsibility for work placements and careers events with local employers, universities and training providers.

This term-time post is 37 hours per week with two additional INSET days, focusing on impartial guidance and building partnerships while tracking destinations to inform leadership

Qualifications

• Level 6 Qualification in Career Guidance, or commitment to work towards it.
• Solid standard of English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Give impartial advice to students and families on option choices and post-16 decisions
• Build relationships with local businesses, universities and post-16 training providers to create student opportunities
• Manage Key Stage 4 and Post-16 work placements end to end, ensuring they are safe, suitable and well monitored
• Organise career fairs, employer talks and workshops
• Keep students, parents and staff informed through digital updates, bulletins and assemblies
• Track student destinations and keep accurate records to meet standards such as the Gatsby Benchmarks and inform leadership decisions
