CrossReach Trading Ltd. is seeking Care Workers at Morlich House in Edinburgh to provide high-quality, person-centred support with daily living activities. The role emphasizes safety, dignity and independence, with shifts including mornings and evenings and a rotation to cover weekends.
You’ll work as part of a team, building positive relationships, following individual care plans and maintaining careful records. PVG and SSSC registrations are required or pursued with support.
Located in Morningside, Edinburgh, Morlich House provides residential care for up to 23 older women. The home offers a peaceful, welcoming environment with a private garden, alongside opportunities for activities, socialising and outings into the local community. One of its most distinctive features is a recreated 1950s street, complete with a period living room, kitchen, sweet shop and post office, providing a familiar space where residents can reminisce, share memories and connect with others.
CrossReach is looking for Care Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support with the practical and personal aspects of everyday life.
You’ll be part of a team helping people feel safe, comfortable and respected, while supporting their independence and encouraging them to remain involved in the things that are important to them.
Working pattern: Shift work including mornings and evenings, with a rotational requirement to work 2 out of every 3 weekends.
Hours: Applicants must be available to work 28 hours per week.
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, reliable and able to build positive working relationships. You’ll communicate well, work cooperatively with colleagues and approach your responsibilities with care and professionalism.
Experience in a care setting is useful, but it’s not essential. You may have developed relevant skills through customer service, hospitality, volunteering or supporting someone in your personal life.
What matters is your willingness to learn, your respect for others and your ability to provide support in a safe, thoughtful and responsible way. You may already hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or be willing to work towards achieving it with support from CrossReach.
You’ll also need to meet the relevant PVG and SSSC registration requirements for the role.
At CrossReach, we recognise the importance of care that is consistent, respectful and tailored to each person. You’ll contribute to an organisation that values quality, compassion and the commitment of the people providing support.
We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that supports others.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.
We are committed to ensuring that we attract, retain, and develop the very best people to build a diverse and talented team and we recognise that every individual’s unique background, experience and ability contributes to our success. We aim to create an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals feel valued and respected and where people can belong, thrive and be their very best, whoever they are.
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. During that time, we have worked hard to understand the needs of the people who turn to us for help and with them have been at the front end of pioneering services which have literally changed thousands of lives for the better.
Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services.
