Continuity of Care Services in the United Kingdom is seeking a Care Team Leader to supervise Complex Care Assistants and support the day-to-day running of Restwell Retreats in Whitstable. The role combines leadership duties with hands-on clinical support to deliver person-centred care.

You will recruit, induct, train, supervise, and assess competencies, ensuring safe staffing levels and high-quality care for clients with disabilities and complex healthcare needs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up new care packages and introduce new staff to clients.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day running of Restwell Retreats with the office team, housekeeping staff, clients and families.
  • Understand each client's needs to ensure consistent, person-centred care.
  • Supervise, mentor, shadow, observe and assess competencies of Complex Care Assistants.
  • Maintain safe staffing levels across care packages with Care Coordinator.
  • Provide hands-on care including personal care, medication administration, meal prep and light household duties.
  • Participate in shared on-call rota and promote high standards of care.

As part of this role, you will also support our recently opened Restwell Retreats a fully accessible coastal retreat in beautiful Whitstable, offering individuals with disabilities and their families the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing and well-deserved break. You will play an important role in helping this exciting new service flourish alongside our established complex care provision.

Working closely with the Care Manager and wider office team, you will help ensure our clients receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

You will be responsible for supporting the recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and competency assessment of our Complex Care Assistants, ensuring they have the knowledge, confidence, and clinical skills to deliver exceptional care.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines leadership responsibilities with hands‑on clinical support. Your 30-hour working week will include a mixture of office-based duties, community visits, supporting the day-to-day running of Restwell Retreats, and providing clinical care when required. Flexibility is essential, including working alternate weekends.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the setup of new care packages and introduce new staff to clients.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of Restwell Retreats by working closely with the office team, housekeeping staff, clients, and their families.
  • Build a thorough understanding of each client's individual needs to ensure consistent, person-centred care.
  • Supervise, mentor, shadow, observe, and complete competency assessments for Complex Care Assistants.
  • Work with the Care Coordinator to help maintain safe staffing levels across care packages.
  • Deliver high-quality hands‑on care, including personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and light household duties where required.
  • Participate in the shared on‑call rota.
  • Promote high standards of care, professionalism, and compliance across the service.
  • At least one year's experience supporting individuals with disabilities and complex healthcare needs, including: Tracheostomy care, Ventilator support, Gastrostomy (PEG) care, Bowel management.
  • QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Willingness to attend all mandatory training (fully funded).
