Job summary

Sense Cymru in Caerphilly is seeking a Care Team Leader to supervise and develop a team of support workers for adults with disabilities. The role covers supervision sessions, rota management, recruitment support and day-to-day service operation, working 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with adults with complex disabilities or sensory impairment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a similar setting.
  • Experience conducting supervisions and supporting rota management is beneficial.
  • Positive, person-centred approach and genuine commitment to empowering the people we support.
  • A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle - essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising a team of support workers, including regular supervision sessions and appraisals.
  • Coaching and guiding staff to maintain high standards of support.
  • Supporting rota management and day-to-day running of the service with the Manager.
  • Supporting recruitment and induction of new team members.
  • Supporting the people we support to take part in meaningful activities and access their communities.
  • Contributing to person-centred plans and guidelines with families and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records and safeguarding responsibilities.

TouchBase Wales is Sense Cymru's community support base in Caerphilly, supporting adults with multi-sensory or single sensory impairment and additional needs. Our support is designed around the choices and wellbeing of each individual, with meaningful activities that promote life skills, communication, creative expression and independence. We're looking for a Care Team Leader to join the team on a fixed term basis for 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Saturday, at £27,982.50 per annum (£14.35 per hour). Shifts are a mixture of 8:30am to 4pm and one day 7am to 5pm.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supervising a team of support workers, including carrying out regular supervision sessions and appraisals
  • Coaching and guiding staff to maintain the highest standards of support
  • Supporting rota management and the day-to-day running of the service alongside the Manager
  • Supporting the recruitment and induction of new team members
  • Supporting the people we support to take part in meaningful activities and access their communities
  • Contributing to person-centred plans and guidelines, working alongside families and other professionals
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are upheld
