Lifeways is seeking a compassionate Support Worker (Driver Essential) to help people live independently in their own homes and communities. You’ll provide more than care, building confidence and enabling people to stay connected to what matters to them.

No prior care experience is required; a full UK driving licence is essential. You’ll be paid £13.10 per hour plus £50 sleep-ins, with training provided and opportunities for career development.

Job description

Support Worker (Driver Essential) | £13.10 per hour + £50 sleep ins

Shift pattern: 8am - 10pm

As a Lifeways Support Worker, you'll do far more than provide care.

You'll help people build confidence, maintain their independence, stay connected to the people who matter to them and live the life they choose.

We're looking for caring, reliable people who want to make a genuine difference. You don't need previous care experience. What matters most is your attitude, values and willingness to support others.

A full driving licence is essential for this role, but not because you'll spend your day driving from appointment to appointment. Driving gives the people we support opportunities.

It means helping someone visit family, get to college, attend a job interview, enjoy a day out, pursue a hobby, go shopping independently or simply spend time in their local community.

Sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact. Whether that's somebody ordering a coffee independently for the first time, catching up with friends, or building the confidence to try something new, you'll play a part in making those moments happen.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting people in their own homes and within their local community

Alongside this, you may also provide support with:

• Budgeting and daily routines

Great support is about much more than personal care, but personal care may form part of the role depending on the needs of the people you support.
