Job summary

Lifeways in Winlaton is opening a brand-new one-person supported living service and is seeking compassionate, positive Support Workers to help a person with learning disabilities, autism and behavioural needs live independently at home.

Your role will include assisting with daily living tasks, promoting independence, providing positive behavioural support, encouraging hobbies and community activities, and building a trusting relationship so they feel safe and valued.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living tasks (cooking, cleaning, personal care) and maintaining a comfortable home environment.
• Promoting independence and helping the person achieve personal goals.
• Providing positive behavioural support and reassurance when needed.
• Encouraging participation in hobbies, activities, and community opportunities.
• Building a trusting, meaningful relationship to help the person feel safe, valued and empowered.

Get to Know the Person You'll Be Supporting

This person enjoys:

• Colouring and creative activities
• Completing jigsaws
• Listening to music and dancing
• Yoga, meditation, and other calming activities
• Going out for drives and exploring the local area

As they do not use public transport, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You'll Be Doing

Every day will be different, but your role will include:
