Job summary

Salutem Care & Education is recruiting for a Support Worker at Penhayes House in Exeter. You will provide person-centered support to adults in residential services, promoting independence and wellbeing, with shifts including days, nights and sleep-ins. Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to individuals, promoting independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing in line with care plans, risk assessments and PBS plans.
• Deliver tailored support meeting physical, emotional, social and mental health needs.
• Encourage independence, life skills and participation in education, employment, volunteering and community activities.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, continence care and use of specialist equipment where required.
• Monitor health and wellbeing, attend appointments, promote healthy lifestyles and maintain accurate records.
• Administer and manage medication safely in accordance with policies and training.
• Follow PBS strategies and support individuals during distress while promoting least restrictive practices.
• Safeguard individuals by identifying and reporting concerns, upholding rights and dignity.
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming living environment and support daily household tasks and health and safety standards.
• Complete accurate documentation including daily notes, incident reports, health records and financial records.
• Support budgeting, personal finances and accessing benefits where appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Adhere to organisational policies, regulatory requirements and quality standards while contributing to service improvement.
• Participate in training, supervision and flexible shift patterns including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins and waking nights as required.
