Job summary

McCarthy & Stone Ltd in Cheltenham is seeking a part-time Care Assistant to join Jenner Court, a Retirement Living PLUS development for residents aged over 70. The role offers 16 hours per week with shifts including evenings and weekends, paying £13.26–£14.56 per hour.

You’ll support residents with daily tasks, assist with social activities, and help maintain independence in a warm on-site team. Fully paid training, pension, life insurance, and wellbeing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in UK health and social care.
• Ability to assist with daily domestic tasks and resident support.
• Willingness to work part-time shifts including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily tasks (appointments, cleaning, laundry, shopping).
• Assist with social activities and wellbeing routines.
• Promote independence, dignity, and community engagement.
• Support with individual care packages.

Jenner Court is a Retirement Living PLUS development close to the centre of Cheltenham. It consists of one and two bedroom retirement apartments exclusively for the over 70s. It has some outstanding communal facilities, including a communal lounge and on-site restaurant and landscaped gardens.

You will be working a mix of early shifts, and late shifts, including alternate weekends.
