Job summary

Home Instead in Taunton is seeking an experienced Care Assistant, Support Worker, HCS or Home Carer to join our award-winning team. You will support older adults at home, providing reassurance and helping them feel safe and independent with routines.

We offer flexible full-time hours, weekday and weekend shifts, mileage paid, PPE and full induction training. Sponsorship is available for eligible candidates and progression pathways exist within our local team.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience in care roles.
• Willing to complete Enhanced DBS.
• A valid Category B driving license is a genuine occupational requirement.
• Level 4 English and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to older adults at home.
• Assist with medication and mobility as needed.
• Prepare light meals and drinks.
• Offer companionship and conversation.
• Record simple care notes after visits.
• Support clients to socialise outside the home.

£13.30 an hour on weekdays & £14.10 on weekends PLUS DOUBLE PAY on Bank Holiday. Mileage paid at 0.45p per mile when you have your client with you.

Job Description

As an experiencedCare Assistant, Support Worker, HCS or Home Carerwith at least 2 years experience we are now offering Sponsorship. You’ll be supporting older adults with their routines, providing reassurance and helping them feel safe at home.

Key Tasks

• Personal care (washing, toileting, dressing)
• Giving medication support and support with mobility
• Preparing light meals, drinks and snacks
• Offering companionship and conversation at the end of the day
• Recording simple care notes after each visit
• Taking clients out into the community for socialising or appointments

Ideal Candidate

• A valid Category B driving license is agenuine occupational requirementfor this role due tothe need to travel between remote sites where public transport is unavailable.
• Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS
• Level 4 English and IT literate
• A desire to genuinely help other people and make a difference
• Resilient, reliable, proactive with a can-do attitude
