Job summary

Home Instead Taunton is seeking Care Assistants, Support Workers, HCS or Home Carers to help older adults with evening routines and provide reassurance in the home. You will handle personal care, mobility support and companionship, ensuring clients feel safe and engaged.

Responsibilities include medication support, light meal prep, recording care notes, and accompanying clients to community activities. Flexible shifts and onsite parking are included.

Qualifications

• A valid Category B driving license is a genuine occupational requirement for travel between sites.
• Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Level 4 English and IT literate.
• Desire to genuinely help others and make a difference.
• Resilient, reliable, proactive with a can-do attitude.

Job Description

As aCare Assistant, Support Worker, HCS or Home Carer you'll be supporting older adults with their evening routines, providing reassurance and helping them feel safe at home.

Key Tasks

• Morning/evening personal care (washing, toileting, dressing for bed)
• Giving medication support and support with mobility
• Preparing light meals, drinks and snacks
• Offering companionship and conversation at the end of the day
• Recording simple care notes after each visit
• Taking clients out into the community for socialising or appointments

Ideal Candidate

• A valid Category B driving license is agenuine occupational requirementfor this role due tothe need to travel between remote sites where public transport is unavailable.
• Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS
• You have the right to work in the UK (we do not offer any form of Sponsorship)
• Level 4 English and IT literate
