Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a qualified professional to undertake assessments for older adults and people with disabilities under the Social Work (Scotland) Act and related legislation. The role requires careful budgeting to meet service outcomes and a commitment to quality service delivery.

The post is regulated work with PVG scheme checks and, where applicable, overseas criminal record checks. A minimum of two references is required, including one from the current or most recent employer,

• PVG Scheme checks required; Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required if spent 3+ months abroad in last 5 years.

Undertake assessments within budgetary criteria, where individuals meet service eligibility, to meet the outcomes of older adults, and those with a physical disability including acquired brain injury, under the remit of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968 and subsequent legislation relevant to the function of care management.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
