Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc in Bridgwater is seeking a Care & Maintenance Technician to keep critical equipment in peak condition at a major UK infrastructure project. The role is on-site, Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00, with a salary between £46,500 and £48,500 per annum.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, supervise contractor visits, and ensure safety and ONR compliance. A full UK driving licence is required, and a pension and benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance or engineering experience in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of maintenance practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience developing or supporting care and maintenance activities.
• Proficient IT skills and keeping accurate technical records.
• Full UK driving licence is essential for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled care and maintenance activities across plant and equipment.

Are you an experienced maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping critical equipment in top condition? Can you confidently identify defect, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure critical assets remain in peak condition? At Hinkley Point C, we're building the first new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain, helping to provide xero-carbon electricity to around six million homes. As a Tier One partner supporting Nuclear New Build, we deliver essential warehousing and transportation services to this landmark project.

Here at GXO, we're looking for a Care & Maintenance Technician to join our team in Bridgwater to help ensure the safe, compliant and effective maintenance of critical equipment and assets across our warehouse facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant project whilst working within a safety-focused, highly regulated environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday, 07:00 till 15:00.

We're looking to offer a salary between £46,500 and £48,500 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Carry out scheduled care and maintenance activities, ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained in line with supplier requirements and maintenance schedules
• Host and support contractor visits, inspections, and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, procedures, schedules, and long-term quality documentation to support ONR requirements and regulatory compliance
• Identify, report, and support the resolution of defects, maintenance convers, and improvement opportunities across warehouse facilities
• Support asset reviews, monitor performance, track corrective actions, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven engineering or maintenance experience within a large engineering, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or regulated environment
• Strong understanding of maintenance practices, engineering standards, risk assessments, method statements, and compliance requirements
• Experience developing, implementing, or supporting care and maintenance arrangements and activities
• Strong IT skills with experience using asset management systems and maintaining accurate technical records
• Full UK driving Licence is essential, as you may be permitted to work across some of our other locations
