Job summary

Staffordshire County Council’s Children in Care and Care Leavers Service is hiring a Personal Advisor in Lichfield. You will support care-experienced young people aged 16-25 as they transition to independent adulthood, delivering guidance across education, employment, accommodation, health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience with care leavers and vulnerable groups.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
• Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and statutory guidance for care leavers.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with care-experienced young people aged 16-25.
• Deliver Leaving Care responsibilities and pathway planning.
• Support practical and emotional skills for independent living.
• Collaborate with social workers, housing, education and health services.
• Advocate for young people to access services and opportunities.
• Assist care leavers to secure and sustain suitable accommodation.
• Encourage participation in education, employment and training.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to reviews.
• Promote resilience and positive outcomes in line with Corporate Parenting Principles.
