Job summary

Meadow View Neurological Centre in Basingstoke is seeking a Chef to provide nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. You will plan, prepare and serve meals, tailoring menus to individual dietary needs and ensuring safe, hygienic kitchen practices.

Working with the wider kitchen team, you will maintain consistent food quality, support mealtime experiences, and help run a well-functioning kitchen in a care-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef, ideally in a care setting.
• NVQ Level 2 in food preparation or cooking.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Good knowledge of food safety, health and safety and COSHH.
• Commitment to high quality food and service.
• Ability to work under pressure and use initiative.
• Flexible and reliable approach.
• Caring and respectful tone with residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals meeting dietary needs.
• Adapt menus for allergies, medical needs and texture-modified diets.
• Maintain high hygiene standards and safe working practices.
• Support kitchen operations and contribute to a positive dining experience.
