Job summary

Augustinian Care’s two 60-bed care homes in St George’s Park, Ditchling Common, near Burgess Hill, are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our catering team. You’ll help provide breakfast, lunch and dinner services for residents and staff, under the guidance of our Chef, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year in catering, a Food Hygiene Level 2 or be willing to study for it, and must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of catering experience.
• Desirable familiarity with care home residents' needs.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or willingness to study for it.
• Clear enhanced criminal record check and references.
• Proof of right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, salads and sandwiches daily.
• Wash up and store crockery, cutlery and utensils.
• Assist serving meals to residents, guests and staff.
• Keep stores clean, tidy and in date order.
• Receive, check and store deliveries appropriately.
• Assist with special functions and setting up food preparation.
