Job summary

Augustinian Care offers a Kitchen Assistant role within a friendly catering team in a two-care home setting near Burgess Hill. You will support breakfast, lunch and dinner services for residents, guests and staff under the guidance of the Chef.

We require at least 1 year in catering, a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (or be willing to study for it), and the ability to work in a care home environment. A clear enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of catering experience.
• Desirable understanding of care home residents’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, salads and sandwiches daily.
• Wash up and store crockery and utensils.
• Assist serving meals to residents, guests and staff.
• Keep stores clean, tidy and in-date.
• Receive, check and store deliveries correctly.
• Assist with special functions and event catering.
