Job summary

Hill Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team. You will assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals for residents, ensuring high-quality, freshly prepared dishes and accommodating special dietary needs.

You’ll work under the Home Manager, follow health and safety policies, attend training days and contribute to a safe, compassionate dining environment for older adults in our care home.

Qualifications

• Basic food/hygiene certificate required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List checks where applicable.
• Experience in care environment is advantageous; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Communication: Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
• Training and Development: Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence; attend mandatory training days/courses.
• Health and Safety: Ensure kitchen and dining areas meet statutory standards; report issues to Home Manager.
• General: Adhere to company policies; keep equipment clean and well maintained.
