Job summary

Maria Mallaband Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our on-site kitchen operations within a care home. You will assist with food preparation, plating, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in line with health and safety and Food Standard regulations.

The role requires the ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and be flexible to shifts. Experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential, and a genuine interest in resident wellbeing is important.

Qualifications

• Able to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals and keep preparation areas clean.
• Genuine interest in working in a care home environment.
• Flexible to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and plating for meals.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Support chefs in meal service and food trolley preparation.
• Coordinate with care home staff to ensure resident needs are met.
