Job summary

SMB Associates Ltd is seeking an experienced Shift Lead to join our care home team in Warmley. You will supervise care staff, coordinate shifts and ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual care plans.

The role requires QCF qualifications, strong leadership and a commitment to dignity, privacy and safety of residents. You will report to the Home Manager and support the Head of Care when needed.

Qualifications

• QCF Level 3 in a care-related subject or QCF Level 2 with progression toward Level 3.
• Competence will be assessed regularly by a suitably qualified staff member.
• Experience leading a care staff shift is desirable as described in duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of carers on shift, ensuring efficient use of time to meet residents' needs.
• Provide handover and ensure completion of Shift Lead Checklist.
• Develop and update care plans for residents and ensure up-to-date records.
• Manage staff allocation and observe breaks and supervision.
• Record daily well-being reports and coordinate with care leaders.
• Ensure medication administration and eMAR/eMAR checks according to policy.
• Carry out night shift lead duties and supervise colleagues.

Education

QCF Level 3 in Care related subject

QCF Level 2 working towards Level 3
