Job summary

SMB Associates Ltd is seeking a Shift Lead to guide the care staff team on shift, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care aligned with individual care plans. You will supervise, support, and model best practices, and operate the home in the Home Manager's absence, including rota management.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, ensuring staff coverage, timely updates to care plans, and adherence to policies for resident dignity, privacy, safety, and independence.

Qualifications

• QCF Level 3 in a care-related subject or QCF Level 2 with progression to Level 3.
• Competence will be assessed regularly by a suitably qualified member of staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of CASAs on shift, ensuring care and support meet resident needs.
• Provide handover of relevant information to the incoming Shift Lead.
• Ensure completion of Shift Lead Checklists and transfer to next shift lead.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans for residents and ensure updates are recorded.
• Manage staff allocation and ensure appropriate skills mix on the floor.
• Oversee daily diary checks and staffing with e-Plan updates.
