Job summary

Spa Nursing Home Group is hiring a Maintenance Person to keep Oakridge Care Home safe, well-maintained and comfortable for residents and staff in Ballynahinch. You will perform general maintenance, check fire alarms and safety equipment, and keep accurate maintenance records.

The role requires a practical, hands-on approach, experience in trade work, and the ability to work independently. You must be eligible to live and work in the UK; salary is £14 per hour, paid weekly, with training

Qualifications

• Compassionate, understanding and positive attitude to work, colleagues & residents.
• Experience in a maintenance role or relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical work or general building maintenance).
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a care setting.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete routine safety checks.
• Physical fitness to carry out manual work and outdoor maintenance tasks.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
• A practical, hands-on approach, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety and hygiene standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while ensuring timely and effective repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks to keep the home safe and well-maintained.
• Identify and resolve maintenance issues and carry out safety checks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Carry out seasonal tasks such as cleaning guttering and winter salting.
