Job summary

Spa Nursing Home Group is hiring a Maintenance Person to keep Oakridge Care Home safe, well-maintained and comfortable for residents and staff in Ballynahinch. You will perform general maintenance, check fire alarms and safety equipment, and keep accurate maintenance records.

The role requires a practical, hands-on approach, experience in trade work, and the ability to work independently. You must be eligible to live and work in the UK; salary is £14 per hour, paid weekly, with training

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while ensuring timely and effective repairs.

About the role

About the Role

Oakridge Care Home, located on the Magheraknock Road in Ballynahinhc, caters for up to 65 residents requiring frail elderly care.

As a Maintenance Person, you will ensure the home remains safe, well-maintained and comfortable for residents, colleagues and visitors. Your work will involve general maintenance tasks, identifying and resolving issues and carrying out regular checks on fire alarms and safety equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, performing painting and decorating as needed and ensuring outdoor areas are well-kept through gardening and upkeep. Your role will also involve essential seasonal tasks such as cleaning guttering and clearing snow or salting pathways to ensure safe access throughout the year.

This role involves substantial access to vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be offered the position subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI. Regulated posts will also require a check of the adult barred list.
