Job summary

Mint People is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter for a 5* care home in Darlington. You’ll support the kitchen team to prepare meals and maintain a clean, hygienic environment for residents.

Key duties include basic food prep, washing dishes, storing deliveries, and keeping storerooms tidy while following health and safety rules. Flexible daytime shifts with weekly pay and free parking onsite.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation under guidance of the kitchen team.
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keeping the kitchen, storerooms and food prep areas clean and hygienic.
• Receiving and storing deliveries correctly.
• Supporting with waste disposal and recycling.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and following health & safety and food hygiene regulations.
