Job summary

The Sycamores Care Home in Newton, Hyde, part of Care Concern Group, seeks a Housekeeping Assistant/Kitchen Assistant. You will maintain a clean, safe environment and support laundry services, with roles spanning cleaning, laundry and basic kitchen duties.

Role offers a 20-hour week contract with hourly pay in the £13.45–£13.95 range, plus paid DBS, pension, uniform and benefits. Teamwork and attention to detail are essential to ensure residents’ comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying and ironing, with items clearly labelled.
• Assist with kitchen duties as part of a dual role.
• Follow infection control and health and safety procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Contribute to a well organised, welcoming environment for residents.
