Job summary

The Grove Lodge and Courtyard is seeking a Head Chef (Bank) to join its care home team in Middlesbrough. The role offers flexible hours as part of the bank team, with responsibilities including preparing and serving meals, and supporting resident nutrition.

You will report to the Home Manager and help maintain high standards of food quality and safety. Experience in a care home kitchen is preferred; a Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification (or a commitment to train) is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home kitchen is preferred.
• Level 2 or Level 3 catering qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
• Good standard of English and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to develop further in role and training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals for residents.
• Maintain accurate records and ordering of food supplies; report to Home Manager.
• Check deliveries and ensure crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas, including equipment, meet Health and Safety standards.
