Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, inspiring General Manager for Merlin Court Care Home in Marlborough. You will lead a compassionate team to deliver person-centred care, ensure residents feel safe, supported, and at home, and drive performance against regulatory and quality standards.

You will recruit, develop, and retain staff, manage budgets and resources, and establish a culture where residents and colleagues feel valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' experience in a similar care environment.
• Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• IT competence and comfortable with digital systems.
• Adaptable and flexible, ready to step in as needed.

Responsibilities

• Champion high-quality, person-centred care based on best practice.
• Drive recruitment, retention, and development to build a strong, engaged team.
• Act as a key point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and external professionals.

As General Manager, youll be the driving force behind a vibrant, personcentred care environment. Youll lead and motivate your team to deliver exceptional care, ensuring residents feel safe, supported, and truly at home all while meeting regulatory standards and achieving key business goals.

• Be adaptable, flexible, and ready to step in where needed
