Job summary

ForeverCare is seeking a compassionate Deputy Manager to lead the home, working closely with the Registered Manager to plan, organise and manage day-to-day operations. You will foster a positive team spirit, maintain strong relationships within the local community, and ensure high standards of care for children aged 5 to 18.

You will oversee care plans, admissions, staff guidance and on-call duties, with a focus on safety, development and effective communication with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care) is desirable; in-house training is provided.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a relevant field is preferred.
• A transferable Adults and Children’s DBS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Registered Manager to plan, organise and manage the home.
• Lead the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans.
• Assist in admissions of new children with smooth transitions.
• Support Senior and Residential Practitioners and provide guidance and supervision.
• Ensure sufficient staff coverage at all times and safe running of the home.
• Establish and maintain effective communication within the team and with external partners.
• Monitor training needs and align staff skills with home requirements.
• Promote independence and active participation of children, with regular reviews of care.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of children and staff, including fire safety.
