Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing meals in a care setting is desirable.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and dietary requirements.
• A relevant food hygiene qualification, or willingness to complete training.
• Reliable, flexible approach and respectful communication with residents and colleagues.
• Food hygiene levels 1–3 preferred.
• Experience in 1+ years in a care setting.
• Knowledge of the Food Standards Agency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks and refreshments.
• Follow residents’ dietary plans, including allergies and textures.
• Work with care staff to confirm dietary needs and respond to feedback.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, storage, temperature records and cleanliness.
• Manage stock, check expiry dates and minimise waste.
• Report kitchen hazards and equipment faults promptly.
