Job summary

Fairmile Grange Care Home, part of Allegra Care Group, invites an experienced Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver nutritious, home-cooked meals for residents in Christchurch. You will plan balanced menus, manage ordering, stock, and budgets, and ensure HACCP standards while supporting care staff to meet individual dietary needs.

We offer 40 hours per week, alternate weekends, and a competitive rate of £16.15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Cheffing qualification (L2 or L3)
• Experience in care home kitchen desirable
• Strong understanding of specialist diets, nutrition and allergens
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Passion for cooking and enhancing residents' lives
• Ability to work flexibly, including alternate weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals for residents and visitors
• Create varied menus meeting dietary, allergy and texture-modified requirements
• Manage food ordering, stock control and kitchen budgets
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP and health & safety regulations
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Support kitchen assistants and other catering staff
• Collaborate with care team to meet residents' individual needs and preferences
