Job summary

Cedar Lodge Care Home in Taunton, Somerset, is seeking a Chef on a part‑time basis to prepare high quality meals for residents with complex needs. You will manage food preparation, ensure dietary requirements are met and maintain hygiene standards in a supportive kitchen team.

The role offers training, ongoing development and a work‑life balanced pattern with no late evenings or split shifts. DBS paid, pension and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Understanding of dietary requirements, including modified or specialist diets, is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, nutritious meals within a specialist care setting.
• Take ownership of food preparation and service, tailoring meals to dietary needs.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety.
• Contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and day‑to‑day service.
