Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in Honiton is seeking a dedicated Chef for Hill House. You will plan, prepare and cook meals for residents, in consultation with them, and ensure dietary needs are met while managing food safety and stock rotation.

Working 30 hours over three days on a 6-month FTC, with pay of £15.14–£15.45 per hour, you will work with the Catering Manager to deliver healthy, tasty meals and maintain hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant Certificate in Food Hygiene and demonstrable experience cooking varied, healthy meals for large groups.
• Ability to plan rotas and manage resources to ensure continuity of catering service.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, stock rotation and budget awareness.

Responsibilities

• Develop healthy, balanced menus with resident input and preferences.
• Plan, prepare and cook meals per the agreed menu, considering dietary needs.
• Seek resident feedback and monitor satisfaction with meals and quality.
• Work with Catering Manager to provide healthy, tasty meals and monitor kitchen hygiene.
• Oversee stock rotation, control costs and ensure safe use of equipment.
