Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Care Group Support Manager to lead operational performance, budget management and service improvements across the Care Group. You will collaborate with clinicians, senior nurses and managers to deliver high-quality, efficient care across services.

The role focuses on leadership, data-driven decision making and people management to improve patient outcomes, within our integrated care model and NHS pension framework.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in NHS operational management.
• Project management experience in the last two years.
• Experience with waiting lists (PTL/RTT) processes.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team including senior clinicians.
• Experience developing policies and business cases.
• Recent line management experience.
• Experience managing and monitoring budgets in the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational performance across the Care Group, ensuring targets are met.
• Manage day-to-day service operations and support clinicians and leaders.
• Monitor and analyse performance data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Consultants, Matrons, Clinical Directors, Finance, HR and Performance teams.
• Support financial management including budget monitoring and cost improvement programmes.
• Lead projects and service improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience.
• Ensure governance and compliance through audits and policy development.
• Oversee recruitment, attendance, appraisals and training for staff.
• Represent the Care Group in meetings and strategic planning.
