Job summary

Cygnet Care Services Limited is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for Broughton House, a 29-bed care home for adults with complex needs. You will perform day-to-day maintenance on the building, services and grounds, ensuring safety and efficient operation.

Working full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. A general maintenance background is required; City & Guilds in Carpentry or Plumbing is preferred. A driving license and car are essential.

Qualifications

• General maintenance background acceptable; no formal qualifications required.
• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, and basic wiring.
• Full driving license and own car.
• City & Guilds in Carpentry or Plumbing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day maintenance and remedial works and keep records of call-outs and checks.
• Carry out joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.
• Follow safe working practices and report hazards.
• Check fire alarm points weekly and test portable appliances.
• Test and record all portable appliances as per procedures.
