Job summary

Harbour Healthcare is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant for St Catherines Care Home in Bolton. You will perform day-to-day maintenance on the building and grounds to keep the centre safe and functional. You will be on-call for emergencies and work 37.5 hours per week at £12.87 per hour.

The role requires general maintenance skills, a clean driving licence, and a willingness to receive training in Health & Safety. A satisfactory police check is required. On-site parking is available.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge including minor electrical, plumbing or joinery work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Clean driving licence and access to a car or similar vehicle.
• Willingness to receive training on Health & Safety / EHO issues.
• Satisfactory police check and POVA list validation where applicable.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance: complete legal documentation and address defects promptly.
• Maintain exterior areas, gardens, sheds and waste storage to high standards.
• Test fire alarm, ventilation, lighting and portable appliances; log results weekly.
• Monitor deliveries and assist with deliveries to the Care Centre.
• Liaise with Home Manager and participate in staff meetings as required.
• Attend mandatory training and maintain professional knowledge.
