Job summary

Belong Atherton is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join our village-home team. You will work with colleagues to maintain high care standards and provide personal and practical support to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort.

The role requires empathy, reliability, and the ability to work flexible shifts. Training is provided, and a DBS check is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience in elderly care is preferred.
• DBS check is required (Enhanced DBS).
• Care Certificate or NVQ in Adult Social Care desirable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate compassion and a person-centred approach to caring for older people.
• Provide personal care and companionship to residents.
• Assist with mealtimes and safe moving of residents.
• Maintain accurate records for each resident.

About the Role:
As a care assistant, you will work together with other staff in the running of the household. You will aim to maintain high standards of care and service towards customers, relatives, visitors and other members of staff. You will be providing a range of personal and practical care to our residents.

Weekend working
Pay: £13.45p/h
Shifts: 8am - 3pm, 3pm - 10pm a combination of the two.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for older people
• Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
• Able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the household
• Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
• Be alert to residents' needs, health and wellbeing
• Respect the residents' dignity and privacy
• Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
• Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
• Maintain accurate records for each resident

Skills and Experience:

• Excellent communication and written skills
• Committed to providing a high standard of care, promoting dignity and respect
• Previous experience working within an elderly care setting
• Team player but able to work on your own initiative
• Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
• Care Certificate or NVQ in Adult Social Care is desirable.
