Job summary

The Royal British Legion is hiring a Night Care Assistant for Dunkirk Memorial House in Somerset. This part-time role (24 hours per week) involves providing compassionate care to residents, including help with personal care, mobility, nutrition and medications as required.

You will maintain care records, communicate with residents' families and healthcare professionals, and work with colleagues to ensure a safe and welcoming environment that respects residents’ dignity.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 is desirable; the employer supports progression.
• Experience in a care setting is valued.

Job description

We’re expanding our team and are looking for a Night Care Assistant to join us at Dunkirk Memorial House.

This role offers 24 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. Salary £14.36 - £14.57 per hour (includes night allowance).

As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate care to our residents, many of whom have served in the Armed Forces. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, supporting residents with their daily routines, and ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times. You will help with mobility, nutrition, and medication as required, and will work closely with colleagues to provide a safe, welcoming environment. Maintaining accurate care records and communicating effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals will also be an essential part of your role.

The Royal British Legion operates six care homes across the UK, committed to providing exceptional residential, nursing, and dementia care to veterans and their families. Located in the serene Somerset countryside, Dunkirk Memorial House offers a welcoming home with 86 en-suite bedrooms, a bar, library, chapel, and beautiful grounds featuring a rose garden.
