Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for Speedwell Court in Southampton. You will provide person-centred care, support residents with daily activities and help maintain a warm, inclusive home environment.

No prior care experience is required; training is provided. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, and DBS checks apply. Roles include a 42-hour week with 20:00–08:00 shifts and weekend work, with pay of £13.35–£13.71 per hour.

We are now looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team at Speedwell Court.

Role Details

• Role: Care Assistant
• Location: Speedwell Court, Mansbridge Road, West End, Southampton.
• Hours: 42 hours per week average. 20.00-08.00.
• Shifts: Based on a 2 week rolling rota. x3 shifts week 1, x4 shifts week 2. Contracts include alternate weekend working.
• Pay: £13.35 - £13.71 per hour

The Role of Care Assistant

As a Care Assistant at Abbeyfield Living Society, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person‑centred care that reflects our values and puts residents at the heart of everything we do.

You will support residents with their day‑to‑day personal care needs, including washing, dressing, eating, drinking and mobility. You will take the time to understand each individual, offering kindness, patience and empathy while promoting dignity, independence and choice.
