Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in England is seeking a Care Assistant for Westall House, Horsted Keynes. You will support residents with daily personal care, help with washing, dressing, meals and mobility, and follow care plans with kindness and respect.

This 36-hour week uses three 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm) with alternate weekends. No previous care experience is required; full training is provided, along with induction, pension benefits and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with day-to-day personal care needs, including washing, dressing, eating and mobility.
• Follow care plans accurately, respecting confidentiality and promoting dignity, independence and choice.
• Build trust with residents and encourage social interaction to foster belonging and community.
• Contribute to development and review of individual care plans and communicate with the team.

We are now looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team at Westall House.

Role Details

• Location: Westall House, Birch Grove Road, Horsted Keynes, RH17 7BS.


• Hours: 36 hours per week. x3 12 hour shifts per week, including alternate weekend working.


• Shifts: 8am-8pm.


• Pay: £13.35 - £13.71 per hour

The Role of Care Assistant

As a Care Assistant at Abbeyfield Living Society, you will play a vital role in delivering high quality, person centred care that reflects our values and puts residents at the heart of everything we do.

You will act with honesty and professionalism, following care plans accurately, respecting confidentiality and raising concerns when something doesn’t feel right. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to clear, open communication within the team.

You will be committed to delivering consistently high standards of care. This includes contributing to the development and review of individual care plans, recognising changes in residents’ needs, and striving to continuously improve the quality of support we provide.
