Job summary

Agincare in Minehead is seeking a Home Care Assistant to visit clients at home, supporting daily routines, personal care, shopping, cooking, and companionship. You will help create a comfortable, dignified living environment and build trusted relationships with clients and their families.

The role includes fully funded training up to QCF level 5, a zero-hour/bank contract, and benefits such as pension and on-demand pay, offering a flexible path to a rewarding career in local care services.

Qualifications

• Must be kind and compassionate and genuinely passionate about helping others.
• No prior care experience or qualifications required; attitude matters and training will be provided.
• Right to work in the UK for at least 12 months remaining; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Full UK driving licence required.

• Support clients with daily routines, including household tasks and personal care.
• Help with shopping, meal preparation, and making tea.
• Provide companionship, listening, and friendly conversation.
• Assist with medication when needed.

The Role of a Home Carer:

• Supporting people with their daily routines, including household tasks and personal care
• Helping with shopping, preparing nutritious meals, and making a comforting cup of tea
• Providing companionship, a listening ear, and friendly conversation
• Helping with medication

About you:

Above all, we’re looking for someone kind, compassionate , and genuinely passionate about helping others . You don’t need previous care experience or qualifications; if you have the right attitude and a caring nature, we can teach you the rest.

You’ll bring:

• Availability for sleeping nights shifts (10pm-7am)
• A warm , caring, and compassionate approach to supporting others
• Strong people skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
• A supportive , professional, and team-focused mindset
• A minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK (please note we are currently unable to offer sponsorship)
• A full UK driving licence
