Job summary

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing is hiring a Care Assistant to support a young adult with Autism and learning disabilities in the family home and community. This role involves 2:1 support, helping with daily activities, and community access in Hartlepool (TS26).

The post requires a minimum of 6 months care experience, a full UK driving licence, and strong communication skills. Salary is £14.50 per hour with regular day shifts Monday to Friday. Applicants must be male due to care needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' care experience.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support in the family home and community settings.
• Support community access, social activities, appointments and leisure pursuits.
• Build positive relationships with the young adult and family members.
• Assist communication using an iPad, letter board and non-verbal methods.
• Promote independence and participation in daily activities.
• Support emotional regulation and epilepsy care protocols as trained.
