Job summary

M&D Care is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join our specialist residential service in Ammanford. You will provide emotional and practical support to adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs.

No experience is required as full training will be given. Join our family-oriented team and contribute to person-centred care, promoting independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
• Previous care or similar work is valued but not essential.
• Must be aged 18 or over.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meals, and medication support.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing through meaningful activities.
• Work autonomously while maintaining safety and respect for those supported.
• Follow regulatory standards and care plans, and rotate across early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with the team as required.

Join our passionate team at M&D Care as a Care Assistant in our specialist residential service in Ammanford, and make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults. As a Care Assistant, you will provide emotional and practical care in a residential setting. No experience is necessary as full training will be given, but having the right values is important to us.Joining our Specialist Services team means working with some of the most complex individuals we support. Previous experience in a similar setting and a proactive approach whilst following specific plans are highly valued.

Role and Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with mental health needs and learning disabilities.


• Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and shopping.


• Promote independence, dignity, and well-being through engaging and meaningful activities.


• Work autonomously while maintaining the safety and respect of those you support.


• Comply with regulatory standards set by Social Care Wales and Care Inspectorate Wales.


• Work flexibly on a rota basis, including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Additional Information

• A variety of contracted hours available (22.5, 37.5 and 45 hours per week)


• Shift patterns vary and include weekends and night shifts on a rota basis


• No prior experience required – full training provided


• Opportunity to gain a QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care after probation, with full support


• Previous experience for this role would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given
