Job summary

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing in Worcester is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support a vibrant individual living with a spinal cord injury in a warm family home.

You will assist with mobility, personal care, meals and daily routines, while enjoying the support of a clinical team and shadow shifts to build confidence. Full training, DBS clearance, and career progression opportunities are provided. Driving licence and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

  • UK Driving licence holder.
  • Complex Care experience preferred, not mandatory.
  • Minimum 6 months of UK care experience.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Up-to-date CV with full work history.
  • Compassionate, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with mobility and manual handling.
  • Providing personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
  • Supporting with meal preparation and feeding where necessary.
  • Prompting or assisting with medication.
  • Helping with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Supporting daily routines and emotional wellbeing.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support a

vibrant and active individual who lives with a Spinal cord injury. Our service user loves to get out and about, whether it's for her teaching job or on a holiday. They live in a warm and bustling family home in Worcester, along with their partner and a number of pets! This is a fulfilling and dynamic role offering the opportunity to learn new skills and build a meaningful care relationship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with mobility and manual handling
  • Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Supporting with meal preparation and feeding, where necessary
  • Prompting or assisting with medication
  • Helping with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
  • Supporting daily routines and emotional wellbeing

You’ll receive full training and undertake shadow shifts to ensure you feel confident and well prepared.

Key Requirements
  • UK Driving licence holder
  • Complex Care experience preferred, but not a mandatory need

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

We need a compassionate Assistant to support a vibrant, active individual with a Spinal cord injury. She loves getting out for her teaching job or holidays, and lives in a warm family home with her partner and pets.
