Job summary

Care By Us, part of CCH, is seeking compassionate domiciliary care assistants to support people to live independently in their own homes across East Hertfordshire, including Walkern and Stevenage.

You don't need previous care experience — we provide full paid training. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, with 30p mileage and flexible shifts.

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.00 per hour plus 30p mileage.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

Every day as a domiciliary Care Assistant is different, but your impact is always the same - life-changing. You’ll support people to stay independent in their own homes and be a trusted part of a close‑knit, local team.

You’ll help with:

• Providing personal care with dignity and respect – bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming
• Assisting with medication – preparation and administration
• Helping with mobility – and using aids/equipment safely
• Preparing meals/snacks – and offering mealtime support
• Carrying out light domestic duties – laundry, making beds, light cleaning
• Offering companionship and reassurance – building meaningful relationships
• Encourage social engagement and family connections
• Monitor health and report any changes to healthcare professionals and family
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
• Respond to emergencies safely and effectively
• Work collaboratively with families and the wider care team
