You will work as part of the care team to deliver person-centred care, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity and respect, while maintaining high safety and wellbeing standards and professional practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to residents in line with care plans.
  • Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming).
  • Support nutrition and hydration, including meal prep where needed.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment as directed.
  • Contribute to daily records and reports under supervision.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and infection control policies.
  • Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Support handovers and team discussions to coordinate care.
  • Ensure a safe, clean environment and report hazards promptly.

Job description

As a Care Assistant you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to residents in accordance with current best practice, agreed standards, policy and procedures, legislative requirements and relevant regulations.

You will work as part of the care team to deliver person-centred care, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity and respect, while maintaining high standards of safety, wellbeing, and professional practice within the care home.

Delivering High Quality Care
  • Provide person centred care in line with individual care plans
  • Assist residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
  • Support with nutrition and hydration, including meal preparation and feeding where required
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment as directed
  • Promote independence, dignity and choice at all times
Supporting the Care Team
  • Work collaboratively with Care Assistants, Senior Carers, and other staff on shift
  • Report any concerns or changes in residents' condition to senior staff promptly
  • Assist with induction and support of new staff as requested
  • Follow the direction of the Senior Carer or Team Leader on duty
Medication Support
  • Assist with medication prompts where authorised and in line with training
  • Observe and report any side effects or changes in condition following medication
  • Support Senior Carers with medication rounds as directed
Care Planning and Record Keeping
  • Contribute to daily records and reports under the guidance of senior staff
  • Report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to senior staff or management
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
Safeguarding and Health & Safety
  • Follow safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable adults
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for residents
  • Adhere to infection control, moving and handling, and COSHH policies
  • Report accidents, incidents, and hazards appropriately
Communication and Teamwork
  • Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in handover meetings and team discussions
  • Support the coordination of care with external professionals
Supporting Residents' Wellbeing
  • Encourage participation in social activities and engagement
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Respect residents' cultural, religious, and personal preferences
Shift Support
  • Support the smooth running of the shift under the direction of senior staff
  • Ensure care delivery meets required standards
  • Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations appropriately, reporting to senior staff
Working Hours and Pay Rates:

We have both full time and BANK contracts available

  • Weekdays - £13 per hour
  • Weekends - £14.05 per hour
