Job summary

Broad Oak Manor, a Bupa care home in Sutton-at-Hone near Dartford, is looking for a Care Assistant on a permanent full-time basis. The role involves 44 hours per week across days and nights with a salary of £13.10–£14.10 per hour, depending on experience.

Applicants must have transport to access the site. You will provide person-centred care, support daily living activities, and help maintain care plans in line with regulations to ensure residents live well.

Broad Oak Manor is a beautiful Edwardian manor house set within a peaceful village, providing residential, nursing and short stay care, including palliative and convalescence care. The home is CQC registered to provide care for over and under 65 years. It's not far from the busy M25 and A2.

There are lots of places where residents can seek out company or enjoy a little quiet time, with the home having a cosy feel whilst retaining charming period features. They can get their hair or nails done in the salon, settle down with a book in the quiet lounge, or join in with an activity. The home is surrounded by lovely landscaped gardens.

The home always listens carefully to what the residents have to say, especially when it comes to planning activities. Pamper sessions, flower arranging, movie nights, and arts and crafts among the many activities that residents can choose from seven days a week, including those who are less mobile.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.

• Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation.
• Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
• Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
• Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements.

• Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
