Job summary

Advantage Healthcare Limited, part of CCH, Birmingham-based team, is seeking a Complex Care Assistant to support a young adult with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. You’ll receive full training and clinical support to develop skills in areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care, with family involvement and varied shifts.

Role involves PEG feeding support, medication administration, manual handling, and daily living assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience in epilepsy and seizure management is advantageous.
• PEG feeding experience is beneficial.
• Medication administration experience is desirable.
• Moving & handling equipment familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support a young adult with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in daily living tasks.
• Provide full training and clinical support to develop complex care skills.
• Assist with PEG feeding, seizure management, and medication administration.
• Perform safe washing, dressing, mobility and manual handling with family assistance.

What you’ll do

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Complex Care Assistant. You will have full training and clinical support to develop and enhance skills in various complex areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care plus so much more!

This rewarding, person-centred role involves supporting a young adult withLennox-Gastaut Syndrome,which is a severe form of Epilepsy. He lives with his parents and siblings, enjoys music and sensory and spending time outdoor and with family.

This role will require assistance with PEG feeding, a Vagus Nerve simulator to help with seizure management, washing, dressing, bowel management, medication administration and manual handling with assistance from his family.

The only requirement would be that you will need a full valid UK licence.
