Job summary

Bowood Court Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is a modern dementia and respite care home in Redditch. As a Care Assistant, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care, supporting residents with personal care, mobility and meals within each care plan.

You will work as part of a supportive team, promote dignity and wellbeing, and follow Health & Safety procedures. The role includes alternate weekends, ongoing training and career progression within a rewarding care environment.

Qualifications

• Caring attitude and passion for supporting older people.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.

• Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Care experience desirable; full training provided.

Job description

Bowood Court & Mews Care Home is a modern residential, dementia and respite care home in Redditch, Worcestershire. With beautifully designed living spaces, sensory gardens and a vibrant programme of activities, our dedicated team creates a welcoming environment where residents are supported to enjoy every day.

Care Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Contracted to 33-44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
• Ongoing training, development and career progression within a supportive and rewarding care environment.

Role Overview

As Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing. You will support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and daily living, while following individual care plans and responding sensitively to their physical, emotional and social needs. You will monitor residents' wellbeing, promptly report any changes in condition and maintain accurate care records to support safe, consistent care. Working as part of a supportive team, you will encourage residents to participate in activities, assist with meals, accompany them on appointments and outings where required, and help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will follow Health & Safety, infection prevention and safeguarding procedures, ensuring residents remain at the heart of everything you do.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

• Previous care or care home experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this qualification. The Care Certificate must be completed within the first three months if not already achieved.
