Job summary

City & County Healthcare Group is seeking compassionate Care Professionals to join our Hertsmere and South Hertfordshire team. You will travel to clients in their homes, providing medication and mobility support, meals, personal care, and companionship to help them live safely and independently.

We offer training, flexible shifts, and guaranteed hours to ensure security and stability. Driving licence and own vehicle are essential due to the geographical rounds and local community coverage.

Responsibilities

Provide medication support and mobility assistance to clients in their own homes.

Work Locations

As this is a community-based role, you will be traveling to support clients within their local communities. We proudly provide high-quality care across the region, primarily covering:

Potters Bar & Surrounds (EN6): Potters Bar, South Mimms, and Darkes Lane.
Borehamwood & Elstree (WD6): Borehamwood and Elstree.
Radlett & Shenley (WD7): Radlett and Shenley.
Bushey & Surrounds (WD23): Bushey and Bushey Heath.

A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role due to the geographical nature of the rounds.

Highly Competitive Pay: £14.70 - £16.50 per hour + 30p per mile.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll help vulnerable clients live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes. Following personalised care plans designed to promote dignity and respect, your responsibilities will include:

Medication support (preparation and administration)
Mobility support (including the safe use of aids and equipment)
Mealtime support (preparing meals/snacks, and feeding if required)
Light domestic duties (laundry, making beds, light cleaning)
Personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care)
Companionship (building meaningful relationships and emotional support)

What Else You’ll Help With

Companionship - conversations, activities, outings
Medication Management - collecting prescriptions, reminders, safe administration
Nutrition & Mealtimes - cooking nutritious meals, considering dietary needs
Mobility Assistance - transfers, walking support, use of aids
Health Monitoring - observing and reporting changes in condition
Social Inclusion - helping maintain community and family connections
Emotional Support - empathy, reassurance, and a listening ear
Documentation - accurate record keepingSafety & Emergency Response - creating safe environments, acting quickly when needed
Collaboration - working closely with colleagues, professionals, and families

Qualifications

What You’ll Need (Besides a Cape!)

You don't need formal care experience! The skills you've gained from raising a family, caring for loved ones, or running a household are exactly what makes a brilliant Care Professional. Full, paid training is provided. We're looking for:

Genuine empathy, compassion, and respect for others
Reliability, punctuality, and a naturally caring nature
Patience and active listening skills to truly understand our clients' needs
Resilience and adaptability-because no two days (or clients!) are exactly the same
A keen eye for detail to spot any changes in a client's health or well-being

Willingness to learn new skills and participate in continuous training
Great communication and a collaborative team spirit
