Job summary

Independent Community Care Management Limited is seeking a Companionship/Complex Care Assistant to support a 20-year-old client at home in Northampton, as part of a 2:1 care package. The role involves caring for a young person with epilepsy due to cortical dysplasia, including personal care and daily living support.

Training is provided, with DBS checks and ongoing clinical support. Shifts include weekday and weekend daytime options in a home setting, with a dog in the household.

Qualifications

• No complex care experience required; full training and ongoing clinical support provided to develop in key complex areas.
• Open to candidates who are compassionate, reliable and patient, with a willingness to learn and grow in care roles.
• Eligible to work in the UK; non-smoker and comfortable in a home environment with a pet dog.

Responsibilities

• Personal care for the client in her home.
• PEG feeding and administration of medications as required.
• Seizure monitoring and management.
• Moving and handling tasks to support daily living.
• Suctioning as needed to support the client.
• Engaging in sensory play, arts and crafts, story time, and outings.

Shifts:Various shifts available | 9.00 - 21.00 / 9.00 - 17.00 / 17.00 - 21.00 | Monday to Friday and occasional Sunday shift

What you’ll do

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Complex Care Assistant to support our 20-year-old client as part of a 2:1 care package in her family home.

Our client is a young woman living with drug-resistant epilepsy due to cortical dysplasia, experiencing multiple types of seizures. Your role will be varied and rewarding, involving:

• Personal care
• PEG feeding and medication administration
• Seizure monitoring and management
• Moving and handling
• Suctioning (as required)
• Engaging in sensory play, arts and crafts, story time, and outings

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, empathy, and enthusiasm to every shift. If you’re someone who values building meaningful relationships, enjoys creative play and engaging activities, and can deliver attentive, high-quality care - we’d love to hear from you.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a non-smoker, comfortable working in a home with a pet dog, and available for both weekday and weekend day shifts.
