Job summary

Jasmine Healthcare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for South Moor Lodge Care Home in Walkeringham. The role involves leading night shifts, delivering high-quality, person-centred care, and ensuring medication rounds are carried out accurately.

You will support residents with daily living, promote dignity, and liaise during handovers with the team. We value leadership, emotional resilience, and a compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
• Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting.
• Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.

Responsibilities

• Providing the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting residents in all aspects of daily living.
• Promoting independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, and promoting physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Leading your shift to ensure high standards and supporting team members.
• Completing daily medication rounds and documenting without errors; ensure charts are completed to a high standard.
• Challenging poor practice, conducting wellbeing checks, investigating complaints as directed by the Home Manager.

Job description

South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents. Role Responsibilities as a Senior Care Assistant

• Providing the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting our residents in all aspects of daily living.
• Responsibility for promoting our resident's independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
• Leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
• Completing the daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits, ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you'll be responsible for leading.
• Promoting good practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practise from other team member. ensure one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Salary: £16ph plus incentives Hours: Full Time Permanent Contract (7pm-7am x3 shifts 1 week, x4 shifts the next week, to include alternate weekends) Location: South Moor Lodge Care Home, Walkeringham, DN10 4LD
